Join Drs. Emma Quach and Claire Grant for an important Lunch & Learn presentation exploring new VA research focused on improving home care delivered by home health aides and family caregivers to older veterans living with dementia.

Drawing from interviews with home health aides and family caregivers, the research examines how early warning signs are identified in the home setting — and how stronger communication between home health aides and family caregivers—contribute to good care.

Attendees will learn about the role of collaborative, relationship-centered care by home health aides and family caregivers in supporting older adults living at home.

This session is especially valuable for agency leaders, clinical teams, supervisors, educators, and professionals supporting individuals living with dementia.

Learning Objectives:

1.      Describe how family caregivers and home health aides define high-quality home care.  

2.      Describe how family caregivers and home health aides evaluate and address—independently and together--emerging concerns about the clients.  

3.      Recognize specific aspects of relationship and communication with family caregivers that matter to high-quality home care. 

This program qualifies for 1 hour of dementia care training applicable to home care aide training requirements in New Hampshire and may also meet dementia training requirements in other states, depending on state-specific regulations.
