Supplemental Schedule on NSR Cost Reports No Longer Required

Supplemental Schedule on NSR Cost Reports No Longer Required
Alliance Advocacy Leads to Reduced Reporting Burden for Agencies
Earlier this week, thanks in large part to the Home Care Alliance’s advocacy, the Centers for Health and Information Analysis (CHIA) informed us that the Supplemental Schedule to the FY24 Nursing Services Cost Report (NSR) will no longer be required for Home Health (HH) and Continuous Skilled Nursing (CSN) cost reports. Agencies must still submit their cost reports and financial statements, but the NSR Supplement is no longer necessary. Submissions remain due by September 15, 2025.
If your agency also provides Continuous Nursing Services (CSN), you must submit separate cost reports.
CHIA and MassHealth have indicated they may request supplemental information in future years, but they have committed to working with the Alliance and our members to ensure any data requested is practical, retrievable, and accurate.
This change reflects the power of member feedback and the Alliance’s direct advocacy to remove burdensome requirements that could have complicated compliance for agencies.
