Share Your Story: Honoring National Home Care & Hospice Month
Sharing Stories of Comfort, Independence, and Care at Home
November is National Home Care and Hospice Month
We have over 200 agencies that work to provide comfort and care to those who need health care at home, whether that be long-term, short-term, or hospice. Our clinicians make it possible for patients to recover, live independently, and experience peace at the end of life, all while surrounded by the people and memories they love most.
This November, we are looking for patients and caregivers to share their experiences, through pictures, video and journaling, that highlight the importance of home care to be displayed at the State House. Just by telling your story, you can help show the impact that can be made by home care and explain why it matters to you. Whether you regained independence through home care or receive help with daily tasks, we want you to tell your story.
We welcome stories from both patients and caregivers. In a few sentences, tell us about your experience with home care. We would love a picture of you and your caregiver as well.
Ideas for patient/family story prompts:
- How did home care change your quality of life?
- What would you tell someone considering home care?
- What do you think more people should understand about home care?
- Share a moment or story that captures why you chose home care for your loved one—and what difference it has made for your family?
Ideas for professional caregiver story prompts:
- What inspires you most about working in home care?
- How have you seen your work make a difference for patients or families?
- What do you wish the public better understood about the role of home care professionals in supporting health, independence, and dignity at home?
- Can you share a moment or story that captures why you chose to be a caregiver—and why you continue in this work?
